Wormwood

"All of you are standing today in the presence of the Lord your God...
Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today
Whose heart turns away from the Lord our God
To go and worship the gods of those nations;
Make sure there is no root among you
That produces such poisonous fruit and wormwood."

Wormwood,Artemesia, a bitter, poisonous perennial herb of 180 varieties, has long been a symbol of bitterness, and a curse. One of its attributes is that it sometimes prohibits the growth of plants near it.  We couldn't find a better place for wormwood, then alone, over the stormdrain!
