TURN FROM YOUR EVIL WAYS… Zechariah 1:4. Appointed for the 8th biblical month, which began October 11th on our 2018 calendar, it's no coincidence that God's admonition comes in the month of the "Day of the Dead" aka "Halloween". A holiday in America only since the mid-20th century, 175 million Americans plan to celebrate, spending $9 billion.

$3.2 billion of it will be spent on costumes, with the witch’s costume as the favorite choice of 7.2 million adults. 1.9 million children also will choose to "be" witches. 2 million REAL witches and wicans will participate with them, along with 10 million people involved in the occult. Read what a former high-ranking priest within the Satanic Temple says about the REAL Halloween. https://www.facebook.com/fontanacommunitychurch/posts/1934245589988954

Since ABCNEWS/Beliefnet 2017 poll reports that a whopping 83% of Americans identify themselves as Christians, adding simple math reveals that “Christians” will spend an ungodly $7,447 billion on a holiday whose mantra is “trick or treat”, with most ADULTS dressing-up as witches.

Still, Halloween is not even in the top 5 for what we spend for holidays here in the US. During the upcoming Winter Holiday season, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year, sales will rack up another absolutely mind-boggling $720,789,000,000. Yes, that’s 720.89 BILLION dollars! Add that to the Mother’s Day and Valentine figures which are double that of Halloween, and you have a mind-boggling holiday partying total of $747.789 billion dollars.

Applying the Christian percentage to that figure, that’s $620,664,870,000 Christians here in America will spend on spooks, candy, cards, gifts, decorations and partying.

And just what could (or should) we Christians have done with all this money? In his book, "The End of Poverty", Jeffrey Sachs calculated that about $175 billion dollars per year would end extreme poverty in the world in just 20 years.

Also consider that according to the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, “An unprecedented 65.6 million people around the world have been forced from home. Among them are nearly 22.5 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18.”

Christians, let’s do the arithmetic. If we take the figure we will probably spend this year on “holidays”( which is actually a contraction of “holy” and “day”) around $620.65 billion, and divide it by the number of refugees at last count, 65.6 million, we come up with an absolutely humiliating scenario. If we just stopped celebrating and spending money on our holidays, we Christians ALONE could provide each and every refuge in the ENTIRE world with $9,461.12 to meet their needs EVERY SINGLE YEAR, just as Jesus meets ours.

For those Americans who feel we should put Americans first instead of helping other countries, consider the US Census Bureau reports for 2016, citing 40.6 million people in this country living in poverty. Instead of relying on our government to take care of needy Americans, Christians could completely eradicate poverty in America, and TRULY place Americans first, by giving EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN AT POVERTY LEVEL $15,286.95, instead of spending a combined $620.65 billion on themselves during holiday partying.

In fact, Jesus said this. "If you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me." Matthew 25:40. These are the over-looked closing words of this passage: "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me."

Jesus drives the sword in further in Luke 12:29-34: "And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

So now we can plainly see it’s not just about the hundreds of billions of dollars we lavishly spend on ourselves and our traditions. We have wandered so far away from God's Word that our treasures are not God’s Holy days, but our own holidays. And our hearts have become aligned with these "fun" holidays, while we find every excuse in the world to ignore God's Word and His Anointed Holy Days.

This should be absolutely inconceivable to us Christians. Every single one of God's appointed Holy Days reveals His Son, Jesus, to a dying planet. He IS God’s calendar! Jesus died on the day of the Feast of Passover. He was placed in the tomb on The Feast of Unleavened Bread. He was raised from the dead on the Feast of Firstfruits. And exactly 50 days from Jesus' resurrection, the Holy Spirit fell upon the church in the Upper Room, just as Jesus had asked the Father to do, fulfilling God's Holy Day of Pentecost. Soon, when the trumpet sounds on God's appointed Holy Day of Trumpets, Jesus will return to earth again. And during that time, He will be our Day of Atonement, and reside again on this Earth during God's Holy Days of Tabernacles, which the Bible says the whole earth will celebrate with Him!

So why do we choose Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's, and on and on, wasting untold fortunes and precious time when absolutely NONE of these holidays were given to us through the power of God's written Word? And why, oh why, do we not celebrate these incredible, awesome Holy Days of the Lord? In short, why are we unwilling to celebrate JESUS!

God's Word tells us CLEARLY what we need to do if we desire His blessing here in America.“‘…Return to me,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD Almighty. Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the LORD. Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live forever? But did not my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, overtake your ancestors?” Zechariah 1: 3-6.
