SPECIAL REQUEST CONCERNING FACILITY USE Fontana Community Church was organized in the late 1940’s by Christians from different branches of Christianity. They realized their need for non-denominational, unifying worship of Jesus Christ. For over 70 years, this non-traditional approach has brought together many folks from all over the world, with one distinct desire: to worship Jesus Christ, the son of the Living God, manifest to us through the power of the Holy Spirit. We welcome all believers in Jesus Christ as our family, and invite you to use our building for Christian functions, and make our ministerial services available to you in any way. We respectfully ask that if your beliefs conflict with those listed below, please do not request the use of our ministerial staff or our building for a wedding. Of course, there will always be doctrinal disagreements within the three branches of Christianity: Protestant, Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic. But there is general agreement among us regarding the essential elements of our faith, listed below. 1.Doctrine of Authority. We believe in the Old & New Testaments as inspired by God, the final authority in faith and life. 2.Doctrine of God. We believe in one God, revealing Himself eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3.The Doctrine of the Person of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and that He is true God and true man. 4.The Doctrine of Man. We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin, incurring both physical and spiritual death. 5. The Doctrine of Salvation in Christ. We believe that Jesus the Christ died for our sins as a substitution sacrifice, saving us from spiritual death and guaranteeing our bodily resurrection from the dead through His resurrection. We believe that salvation and forgiveness of our sin is offered through God’s grace and are free gifts to all who place their faith in Jesus as the Christ. 6. The Doctrine of the Church. The true church is made up of all who have put their faith in Jesus as God and man in one person, whose death was satisfactory to God as a substitution for all human sin. It is the transforming work of the Holy Spirit that truly makes us a child of God, and a true church family. Our statement of belief on Biblical marriage in the church: We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10; Eph. 5:22-23). We believe it is a covenant relationship designed and ordained by God from the very beginning of the creation of the world and is intended only for a man (identified as male at birth – Genesis 4:1-2) and a woman (identified as female at birth – Genesis 6:1).
