MY TEARS ARE IN YOUR BOTTLE… In times like these, we all need a reminder that God loves us. Period.

Yes, when “up” is down, and “down” is up, things get tossed around in a hurry. Scars from past wounds get ripped open again in the process, and fresh, oozing ones begin to fester.#MeToo #WhyIDidntReport #WhereAreTheChildren #BlackLivesMatter #Etc

None of us is immune. Christians DO get hurt and suffer. But it’s how we respond as the chosen of the Almighty Himself, that makes ...all the difference IN THE WORLD, literally.

Don’t expect those closest to you will understand, or even be willing to risk themselves by taking on your worst nightmare. Most often, that just doesn’t happen. We are called upon to face our giant, all alone, slay him with a single pull of the slingshot…and vanquish any of his relatives that may pursue us over the ensuing years.

That's exactly what Psalm 56 is about. In fact, it was written by David years after his defeat of the giant, Goliath, when he found himself once again being pursued by the Philistines.

The Psalm begins with David talking to God very frankly about the pain inflicted on him by others. “Be gracious to me, O god, for man pursued me.”

So it seems that asking for God’s grace is the place where all giant-slayers want to begin. David continues by acknowledging his fear and pledging his trust in God.

“The day that I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust, I will not be afraid….What can a man/human do to me? All day long they distort my words; against me are all their plans. This I know, that God is for me!”

Even if the world never vindicates me, or champions me, GOD IS FOR ME! Do I really need anyone else to plead my case? So,what is it that I REALLY need, and is totally within my reach? How about trust IN God, and praise TO God, and in exactly that order!

“It is upon me to perform my vows to you, O God; I will render thank offerings to you. For you have saved my life from death, yes my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life/the living.”

Yes, thank you, God. Thank you, Lord Jesus! I WILL walk before God in the light of life and in the land of the living! #MyTearsAreInYourBottle

“And there will no longer be any death; There will no longer be any mourning, crying or pain…And He who sits on the throne, said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.”’ Revelation 21:4-5
